Common questions
What is a fully scripted wheelchair?
A scripted chair is configured to one person rather than taken as standard, seat width and depth, backrest angle and height, axle position, cushion and postural supports are each specified. It takes longer and costs more than an off-the-shelf chair, and for some people nothing else works.
Do you assess powered wheelchairs as well as manual?
Yes, both, including the question of which is the better answer. A powered chair solves some problems and creates others: transport and home access in particular.
Will you check it fits through my doorways?
Yes. Access measurement is part of the assessment, not something to discover after delivery. If the chair that suits you will not fit the house, that becomes a home modification conversation.
How long does the whole process take?
Assessment, trial, prescription, funder approval and build each take time. For complex or scripted chairs it is realistically months rather than weeks, which is why referring early matters.
